2023 O’ahu Women’s retreat july 18-25
SELF-DEFENSE, SELF-LOVE, SELF-PRESERVATION, AND THE PROTECTION OF SACRED SPACES:
Join us for an intergenerational and intercultural exchange where we share space and healing amongst fellow wahine toa from all walks of life.
INCLUDED: All meals, lodging, instruction, mentorship, equipment, entrance fees, and airport pick-up and drop-off provided by NWT ‘ohana. All land private transportation. Lodging will be a combination of camping and private large house.
NOT INCLUDED: Roundtrip Airfare to Honolulu, Hawaii
AGES: 14+ years old and up, some acceptions made
TOTAL COST: $750 USD not including airfare
DEPOSIT: $250 to reserve spot once accepted

DEADLINE: applications are accepted on a first come first served basis with priority given to those who have not attended a retreat before. If accepted, please register and pay in full by May 31st, 2023. Late payment could forfeit your spot.
*Be mindful that this is during summer and finding a plane ticket early is recommended. Depending on airport and when you book, tickets average $500 – $1200 roundtrip.

JULY 18TH TUESDAY
Day 1: Honolulu Arrival and check-in at Punalu’u Homebase
Debriefing, relaxing, and recovering from travel. Evening dinner followed by welcome circle.
Dinner provided by Macfarlane ‘Ohana
JULY 19TH WEDNESDAY
Day 2: Nu’uanu/Townside
Morning self-defense by Ilima; visit to Queen Emma Summer Palace and ‘Iolani Palace to learn about wahine toa of Hawai’i; explore town side beaches, hula lesson by Ilima’s kumu hula
Breakfast: Fruit, tea, coffee, oatmeal
Lunch: Tiki’s Grill
Dinner: meal prep company, menu TBA
JULY 20TH THURSDAY
Day 3: North Shore
Morning yoga; weaving workshop lead by Shauna of Halepua Hawai’i; la’au lapa’au lesson, North Shore beach visit
Breakfast: Fruit, tea, coffee, pancakes
Lunch: meal prep company, menu TBA
Dinner: Thai soup, veggie spring rolls in lettuce with sweet chili sauce, pancit
JULY 21ST FRIDAY
Day 4: Kahana Valley Hike
Prepare breakfast and sack lunch with Mama T and adventure to the back of Kahana valley way to play in the river. It will be a challenging hike for the mind, spirit and body and the most powerful medicine. Return to home base and prepare dinner together with Mama T and Juice Gang.
Breakfast: Fruit, tea, coffee, yogurt, granola, cinnamon buns
Lunch: Sack lunch by Mama T
Dinner: Nacho bar-lentils, cashew queso, jackfruit carnitas salsa, crema hot sauce cabbage slaw
JULY 22ND SATURDAY
Day 5: Eastside
Morning self-defense by Ilima; learn traditional Hawaiian water protection and cultivation from the waterfalls, to taro patch agriculture, to the fishpond; visit to Waimanalo beaches. Lead by Macfarlane ‘Ohana and Fieldtrip Friends.
Breakfast: Fruit, tea, coffee, breakfast sandwiches
Lunch: meal prep company, menu TBA
Dinner: Tofu parma-panko with rigatoni served with a caesar salad and garlic bread
JULY 23RD SUNDAY
Day 6: Westside
Morning yoga; Wai’anae farm visit, enjoy water recreation with some of the best water women in the world at Makaha beach. Lead in the past by Keaulana and Desoto ‘Ohana and Na Kama Kai
Breakfast: Fruit, tea, coffee, breakfast burrito
Lunch: meal prep company, menu TBA
Dinner: Chili, rice cornbread and salad with creamy sesame miso dressing
July 24th MONDAY
Day 7: Punalu’u
Self-love day: morning yoga; lei making class; professional photo shoot with our flower creations; dinner catered at Punalu’u and live music. Artist to be announced.
Breakfast: Fruit, tea, coffee, eggs, yogurt, granola
Lunch: meal prep company, menu TBA
Dinner: catering company, TBA
JULY 25TH TUESDAY
Day 8: A HUI HOU
Closing circle, free time and return home
Breakfast: Fruit, tea, coffee, eggs, yogurt, granola
Lunch: Papa Johns Pizza (donor of NWT)
